Quality Control QC for the AVOXimeter 1000E serves as a means to verify that the system is functioning properly. There are two types of QC tests: Optical QC Filters and Liquid QC (LQC).
Optical QC Filters (Yellow and Orange)
- Run one of each filter daily prior to patient testing.
- Run if analyzer is brought from hot to cold temperatures or vice versa.
- Run whenever the performance of the analyzer requires verification.
Optical QC Ranges are as follows:
- tHb (g/dL) – [Yellow Filter: 7.8 – 8.2] [Orange Filter: 16.7 – 17.3]
- %O2Hb (O2 Sat) – [Yellow Filter: 93.7- 96.13] [Orange Filter: 37.8 – 40.2]
Liquid QC
- Control materials compatible with the AVOXimeter 1000E are the RNA Medical CC 527 or QC 253 (Levels 1, 2, and 3). Other controls may give erroneous results.
- Run weekly to verify proper storage of cuvettes.
- Run every time there is a new lot or shipment of cuvettes prior to patient testing
- QC results should fall within the manufacturer’s reference range found listed on each lot’s package insert.
